About SaveSpawn
SaveSpawn is an independent site that compares PC game prices across stores, keeps a record of how low each price has been, and tells you when a game you want gets cheaper. It is run by a small team, not by a store or a publisher.
What it does
- Shows the same game's price in Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store and the other stores we cover, side by side, so you can see where it is cheapest.
- Records the lowest price we have seen for each game, so a "sale" can be told from a normal price.
- Lists the free games to keep, the sales that end soon and the dates of the big sales (free games, ending soon, sale dates).
- Sends price alerts and a weekly deals email, only if you ask for them (how that data is handled).
Where the prices come from
Prices and links come from the stores themselves: their own storefronts and price lists, and the feeds of the stores we have an arrangement with. Our servers read them regularly, so a price on a page can be hours old. The store's own page is always the price that counts: check it before you buy. The price history is our own record, kept from the moment we began tracking a game, so "lowest tracked" means the lowest we have seen, not the lowest ever.
How we earn
Some stores pay us a commission when you buy through a link here. It never changes the price you pay, and it does not decide which deals are shown or in what order: the lists are sorted by price and discount. Steam and GOG pay us nothing and are shown on the same terms as the rest. The privacy page says exactly what is recorded when you click through to a store.
Corrections
A price that is wrong, a deal that has ended, a store we do not cover or a game page that looks off: tell us, with the link to the page. We read every message and fix real errors as soon as we can.
Contact
Write to [email protected]. It is the address for readers, for stores and publishers, for anyone who wants to link to or write about SaveSpawn, and for privacy requests. We answer from this address, usually within a few days.
Press and bloggers are welcome to quote the prices and the price record with a link back to the page they came from. If you want a figure for a story, such as how often a game reaches its lowest price or how deep the sales really go, ask and we will look it up.
We also post deals as they happen:
